Supplemental: Epilepsy
Short Description of Instrument
Purpose: To screen toddlers between the ages of 16 to 30 months to assess the risks for autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Description: The M-CHAT is a 23-item yes/no parent report designed to screen for ASD in toddlers.

Comment: The checklist is designed to screen for ASD, thus there will be a high rate of false positives. Not all children who fail the screen will be diagnosed with ASD, and a structured follow-up interview was developed to be used in conjunction with this screen to address this sensitivity. The M-CHAT is available in multiple languages.
